A private doctor visit in your hotel room
Write to us on WhatsApp with your hotel name, room number and what is wrong. A doctor calls you back, asks a few questions and confirms whether a visit is the right step. You receive a realistic arrival time before the doctor sets out.
In your room, the doctor takes your history, examines you, and explains what is going on in plain language. Treatment can start during the visit: medication, an injection, IV fluids when appropriate, or wound care. If you need a prescription, you receive one that Turkish pharmacies accept.
Common problems we treat in hotels
Most hotel calls in Istanbul are for stomach illness after a new diet, fever and throat infections, ear pain, urinary infections, allergic reactions, migraines, minor injuries from long walking days, and flare-ups of existing conditions such as high blood pressure or asthma.
Guests who travel to Istanbul for hair transplant, dental or aesthetic treatment also call us when they feel unwell at the hotel and cannot reach their clinic at night. We examine you, treat what can be treated, and tell you clearly if you should go back to your clinic or to a hospital.
Hotels we visit across Istanbul
We visit hotels on both sides of the Bosphorus: Sultanahmet and the old city, Taksim, Galata and Karaköy, Şişli, Nişantaşı, Beşiktaş, Levent and Maslak, Bakırköy and the airport hotels, and on the Asian side Kadıköy, Üsküdar, Ataşehir and Altunizade.
Istanbul traffic changes by the hour, so we always give you an honest arrival estimate. If a hospital is closer and more suitable for your situation, we tell you that too.
Paying and travel insurance
You receive a medical report and a receipt after the visit. Many travel insurance policies reimburse private doctor visits abroad; check your policy or call your insurer's assistance line. We can share the documents your insurer asks for.
When a hotel visit is not the right choice
Chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of stroke, heavy bleeding or loss of consciousness need an ambulance and a hospital immediately. If you write to us with these symptoms, we will tell you to call an ambulance and direct you to the nearest suitable emergency department.
Questions
How quickly can a hotel doctor come?
It depends on your district, the time of day and traffic. We send you the expected arrival time on WhatsApp before the doctor sets out.
Do your doctors speak English?
Yes. We work in English, Turkish and Russian, on WhatsApp, on the phone and during the visit.
Can the doctor give me a prescription?
Yes, when it is medically appropriate. Prescriptions are accepted by Turkish pharmacies, and we can direct you to the nearest pharmacy open at night.
Do I need to tell the hotel reception?
It helps. Let reception know a doctor is on the way to your room so they can bring the doctor straight up.
